What have the Eastampton Democrats accomplished?

        1.     Lowered open space tax. The average homeowner is paying less (in dollars) in open space tax today than they
                were paying in 2002.

        2.     Since 1998 we have preserved 1,200 acres of open space and farmland..

»    Completed our open space purchases in less than 4 years (1998-2002) while land price were still
                             'reasonable.'

»    Received over $3M in state and county preservation grants.

        3.     Prevented over 1,000 suburban sprawl units which would have negatively impacted traffic, schools and local
                services.

        4.
Initiated Plan the Land in 2003, in which the residents planned the development of the Village Center.

»    Building Village Center Phase 1 in a accordance with Plan the Land.

        5.      Survey the residents periodically (last one Spring 2006) on issues and the future of Eastampton.

»    Based on the results of the surveys, we have reduced trash expenses by over $100,000.

»    Instituted new recreation program.

        6.     Entered into a shared services agreement with Maple Shade for the tax assessors office.

        7.     Attracted Commercial Ratables (since late 1990s)

 »    Clark's Tavern

»    Peppe's Italian Water Ice and Ice Cream

»    Curves for Women Fitness Center

        8.     Entered into an 11 town consortium to pick up apartment complex trash. This has saved trash collection costs by
                about 35% per year!

        9.
Eastampton is in the midst of shared services agreements with Hainesport, Westampton, Mt Holly and
                Lumberton
for various services including Court, and Construction. We are also negotiating with Maple Shade with
whom we share tax assessor, for a shared land use office. The negotiations for construction office have been ongoing
                since November 2007.

        10.
Democrats fighting for every dollar of your property taxes. The Eastampton Democrats lead by Mayor Rich
Renzulli are spear-heading efforts to fight the Governor’s municipal aid cut. These aid cuts alone could mean as
much as a $100 increase in the local purpose part of your property taxes.Renzulli has testified before the Assembly
Budget Committee, co-authored an article for the NJ State League of Municipalities and presented evidence to
Department of Community Affairs Commissioner Joe Doria and State Treasurer David Rousseau all on behalf of the
residents of Eastampton to urge the Governor, and Assembly that large aid cuts on short notice are not the way to
                reduce property taxes.
