Don’t Be Mislead By Rumor, Hearsay And False Republican Rhetoric

Recently, sitting Republican Councilmen Walt Tafe and Joe Marroccia issued a letter endorsing our Republican opponents for Eastampton Township Council.  Their letter made several false claims that don’t comport with the facts!

False Claim:

Republicans claim that your voice is not being heard.

Fact:

Democrats voted to cut the failed 2007 Fire Budget. Republican Councilman Walt Tafe was the lone vote NOT TO CUT THE BUDGET!  We guess Republican Walt Tafe was not listening.  Why? Was it because he was helping his political ally, Fire Commissioner Adam Cowperthwait, instead of listening to the voters?

Council meeting minutes 3-12-2007:

False Claim:

Republicans were not appointed to boards.

Fact:

Republicans were appointed to represent Eastampton on the Route 206 Corridor Study Board, a county board responsible for the planning of commercial development on Route 206.

Council meeting minutes 1-2-2008:

False Claim:

Republicans were not given information about professional services contracts.

Fact:

All members of Council, Democrats and Republicans, were given the responses from the Request for Proposals (RFPs) for professional services contracts at the SAME time.

Council meeting minutes 12-10-2007:

False Claim:

Republicans were not informed of the professional service selections until after the selections were made.

Fact:

All appointments were made at the public meeting in January.  Republican Tafe was part of the selection process and was even the second on motions to make those appointments!  Republican claims that  decisions are made in smoke filled backrooms prior to meetings are completely FALSE!
